Meghan McCain eviscerated former President Donald Trump for mocking her late father — John McCain — for injuries he sustained as a prisoner of conflict.

Trump went after the late Arizona senator — a longtime favourite target — all through a rally speech in Newton, IA Saturday. The previous president ripped John McCain for famously putting down Trump’s attempt to repeal former President Barack Obama’s inexpensive care act in 2017 with a thumbs-down vote.

“Obamacare is a catastrophe, no one talks about it,” Trump said. “With out John McCain, we would’ve had it done. John McCain for some purpose couldn’t get his arm up that day.”

The remark was a reference to the truth that John McCain was once unable to carry his fingers above his head due to accidents he sustained as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. Over the path of 5 years, he was once tortured repeatedly and left with permanent injuries.

In a post to X (the platform in the past referred to as Twitter), Meghan McCain shared a clip of Trump going after her father, and was unsparing in her response.

“My dad was an American hero,” she wrote. “An icon. A patriot in order to be remembered all over historical past. I can’t buy a bagel without any individual coming near me about how much they cherished and miss him.

“Trump is a piece of shit, election denying, huckster whose own wife won’t marketing campaign with him.”
