Former MSNBC anchor Kendis Gibson left the “hyper-partisan” nationwide news industry so he can center of attention on telling more in-depth tales at a local TV station in Miami.

Gibson, who anchored early morning weekend presentations on the community beginning in 2019, will bounce to WFOR in south Florida, which is one thing he said he’s enthusiastic about.

“I needed to get away from working in the hyper-partisan 24/7 political news space,” Gibson advised Selection about leaving the community. “This can be a just right likelihood to anchor a newscast that covers the entire gamut of the news cycle which I like, together with world news, leisure news, human interest tales and stories vital to native communities — and in an awesome city with an enormous commitment to local news from the top down.”

Gibson appears excited to be heading for sunny Florida. On Tuesday evening, he retweeted MSNBC political analyst Susan Del Percio after she congratulated him on his new gig.

Gibson is a veteran anchor who prior to now worked in local media.

Previous to becoming a member of MSNBC, he labored for ABC Information, starting in 2014.

Previous to anchoring World Information Now and The us This Morning, Gibson labored for CBS News’ Newspath, CNN, HLN; and WJLA in Washington, D.C.
