A new survey finds that seven in 10 Republican voters believe a “strong economic system” a “larger situation” than “a functioning Democracy.”

In keeping with a poll put out Sunday by way of CBS News, more than two-thirds of GOP voters believe the economy to be a extra urgent worry than a functioning Democracy.

When asked “Which is a bigger challenge?” and offered with the options “a functioning Democracy” and “a strong economic system,” 70 percent of Republican voters opted for the latter, in opposition to simply 29 percent who chose the former. Those percentages roughly flip-flopped for Democratic voters. Virtually two-thirds, 63 percent, believe a functioning democracy is a much bigger issue, whereas just 21 % think it’s the financial system.

In other places in the survey, seventy nine % of voters overall believe “issues in the U.S. as of late” are “out of control,” whereas just 21 % say they are “under keep an eye on.”

And 40 percent of Republicans say that they would be more likely to vote for a candidate who “denies [President Joe] Biden received in 2020. Simply eleven percent say they’d be less likely to vote for that candidate, while forty nine p.c say it wouldn’t topic a lot.
