Announcers for the Philadelphia Phillies couldn’t hold back their shock as they watched a wild fastball hit Bryce Harper at bat.
Saturday evening’s game between the Phillies and San Diego Padres took a painful turn when pitcher Blake Snell threw a wild pitch at ninety seven mph that struck Harper within the hand.
As the sport played out live, announcer Michael Bourn yelled “Oooh shit!” as he noticed Harper’s helmet get knocked off.
Fellow commentator, Scott Franzke, took over the play-by means of-play as Bourn composed himself.
“Oh my goodness,” Franzke mentioned. “Bryce Harper will get hit up and he’s clutching his hand at this time. I don’t know the way he received his hand in the best way of that. However, uh, he is in some pain at the moment and Harper down on the ground.”
Harper can be seen clutching his hand before he was once ready to get back to his feet.
“Excuse my language other folks. I believe a phrase may have slipped in the market,” Bourn mentioned as he took to the microphone once more. “I imply, once I considered that ball that unfastened. You’ll want to tell where it used to be headed.”
Harper can be viewed leaving the sector, still clutching his hand in ache, and changing words with Padres pitcher Snell.
In keeping with ESPN, Harper is now on indefinite go away from the group with a broken thumb as more reviews will be executed on his hand in the coming days.
Talking with ESPN, Harper stated that he and Snell had exchanged text messages after the sport and look like on excellent terms, but as far as the injury Harper sustained, he must take it a day at a time.
“By no means damaged anything else in my existence. This is new to me, so I’m just going to head daily, see more or less where we’re at and see the professional in Philly. And if I do wish to see every other expert somewhere, then I will,” he said.
Regardless of Harper being pulled from the sport, the Phillies went on to win 4 to 2.
