Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) spoke with CNN’s Candy Crowley on Sunday, weighing in on the scandal involving the IRS focused on conservative teams. Addressing the agency’s insistence that the issue was once now not politically inspired, Paul urged there’s probably a memo or “written coverage” about officers singling out these opposing President Obama.

Crowley requested Paul whether he may think about the error being simply faulty and silly with none political motives.

“Well, I believe we’re going to have to see the memorandum,” the senator spoke back. “It seems that there is a coverage, and I think that we’re going to find there’s a written coverage that says that ‘We have been targeting individuals who had been hostile to the president.’”

As soon as that comes to light, Paul asserted we’d have to seek out out who wrote and authorized it. That observation prompted Crowley to query whether or not the IRS did actually have a written policy, asking him to make clear his comments.
