House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) refrained from questions from CBS anchor Margaret Brennan about whether or not she’s going to stay in Congressional Management past the 2022 election.
In an interview on CBS’ Face the Nation Sunday, Brennan referenced a Pelosi interview earlier this week with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell — through which the Home Speaker argued in opposition to one of the most “generational trade” members of her caucus have been in search of.
“You told Andrea Mitchell prior this week, ‘we’d like generational exchange, however in some circumstances there’s no substitute for experience,’” Brennan stated. “Will you stay in management within the new Congress?”
“I’m not talking about that,” Pelosi replied. “I’m right here to speak about how we win the election. I was only paying Andrea a praise for the entire experience that she has.”
Brennan tried again to get Pelosi to commit a technique the other.
“So you may also, or you may also not?” Brennan requested.
But the Speaker once more rebuffed Brennan’s line of questioning.
“I’m not here to speak about me,” Pelosi stated. “I’m here to talk about the future of America’s working families.”
