Former Home Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) joined with a few dozen Democratic lawmakers in calling for President Joe Biden to halt arm transfers to Israel following the killing of seven aid workers in Gaza earlier this week.

On Tuesday, an IDF airstrike in Gaza killed seven aid staff within the region, leading to backlash from Israel’s western allies, including the USA. Israel’s armed forces later dismissed senior officers in the airstrike.

On the other hand, more than three dozen participants of Congress signed a letter stressful Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken reevaluate their choice to provide Israel with U.S. weapons amid their current battle with Hamas, in line with NBC Information.

“In gentle of this incident, we strongly urge you to reconsider your contemporary decision to authorize the switch of a brand new arms bundle to Israel, and to withhold this and any future offensive fingers transfers except a full investigation into the airstrike is done,” the lawmakers wrote.

“We additionally urge you to withhold these transfers if Israel fails to sufficiently mitigate harm to harmless civilians in Gaza, including help staff, and if it fails to facilitate — or arbitrarily denies or restricts the transport and supply of humanitarian aid into Gaza,” they brought.

The Home lawmakers also demanded the Biden administration “conduct a thru investigation” into the airstrike that killed seven aid staff with the World Vital Kitchen organization. The letter asks the administration to halt providing Israel with weapons whereas the investigation is pending.

Previous this week, Biden held a telephone call with Israeli High Minister Benjamin Netanyahu where he demanded that Israel do extra to mitigate civilian deaths and attacks on humanitarian workers in Gaza.
