Jake Tapper mentioned he has “never heard anything like” what former President Donald Trump informed a rally crowd on Saturday.
Conversing in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Trump instructed a lengthy story about the late legendary golfer Arnold Palmer, who used to be born in the city.
“And I refuse to claim it. But when he took showers with the other execs, they came out of there. They mentioned, ‘Oh my God. That’s unbelievable,’” Trump mentioned, referring to Palmer’s penis.
On Monday’s version of The Lead, Tapper expressed amazement at what the previous president said.
“[L]et’s simply take the Arnold Palmer anecdote that he told the day past about, I’ll simply say… individuals seeing Arnold Palmer bare within the shower and being impressed,” Tapper stated to Republican operative Kristin Davison. “Now, I’ve by no means heard anything like that. I’m no longer offended. I don’t care. But I do marvel, how many voters does that get you of the individuals which might be in this undecided pool?”
“Smartly, I believe the undecided pool is shrinking,” she responded, responding to the question with a straight face. “We actually don’t have that many undecided voters. It’s truly, are you going to vote or you’re not? That is in reality becoming the Stranger Issues election. now We have two different realities occurring. We have now one marketing campaign that’s operating to win people to the group, to influence them. We have now every other campaign that’s actually simply trying to gin up base turnout. And so, in that occasion, I don’t think it wins over the Nikki Haley voter.”
Davison mentioned that Vice President Kamala Harris not too long ago quoted Ronald Reagan as a technique of accomplishing out to Republican voters who have soured on Trump, but haven’t been gained over by Harris.
“The Bernie Sanders voters simply– they already realize it’s a wink, wink, nudge, nudge, ‘Let her get through this,’” Davison said of Harris’s strategy.
