CNN bizarrely aired several songs from Bruce Springsteen uninterrupted for 14 minutes because the singer stumped for Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday in what community anchor Wolf Blitzer concluded was a “powerful second.”
After the 75-12 months-outdated wrapped an acoustic version of his smash 1984 hit “Dancing within the Dark,” he stumped for Harris and her running mate, Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
“Thank you, Atlanta!” Springsteen stated after striking his guitar down. “Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for president and vice president! Get in the market and vote!”
Blitzer reacted to the set through showering Springsteen with reward:
It’s a very special moment for me. I love The Boss. I went to look him a number of weeks in the past right here in Washington at Washington Nationals Park. Very, very different entertainer. He’s there campaigning for Kamala Harris out in Clarkston, Georgia, right now, and you heard very sturdy statements from him endorsing the vice chairman for the presidency right there.
And it’s not– it’s no longer day by day we get to listen to Bruce Springsteen reside here in The Situation Room. So, it was only a powerful second for me, evidently. For many of you as neatly, everyone who’re large Bruce Springsteen fanatics.
Blitzer did not offer any clarification as to why CNN chose to commit a lot time to the Springsteen for Harris live performance, but he made his fandom of New Jersey’s golden boy clear. In any adventure, there will surely be accusations the community’s decision to hold the exhibit was an in-variety contribution to Democrats.
Harris thanked Springsteen on her X, previously Twitter, account simply moments after he wrapped up his set for her.
Thanks, @Springsteen. Our democracy is most effective as robust as our willingness to struggle for it, and I’m grateful you are with us on this combat. p.c.twitter.com/tqB3nH0mBy
