Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) said he’s “grateful” for President Joe Biden’s assistance as Hurricane Ian tactics the state.

As of Tuesday night, Ian is a Class 3 storm that’s expected to make landfall on Wednesday afternoon. On Tuesday, state officers entreated residents whose houses are in the projected course to “evacuate now”

DeSantis appeared on Hannity to explain the steps the state is taking to brace for the storm. At one level, Sean Hannity asked him to recount a telephone name he had with Biden on Tuesday.

“You had a conversation with the president nowadays,” the Fox News host started. “Earlier in the day, there had been discuss that the president spoke with mayors but no longer you. But apparently, the president reached out to you tonight. Are you able to inform us about that conversation and – within the aftermath of the storm – what fortify Floridians can expect from the federal government?”

DeSantis obliged.

“Neatly, Sean, what I mentioned as of late is my phone line’s open when people’s lives and their property are at risk like this,” the governor responded. “All of us wish to work together despite birthday celebration strains. The Biden administration has licensed our request for a pre-landfall assertion and did that in no time. So we’re grateful for that.”

DeSantis went on to claim Florida will make more requests for the help of the federal government.

“There’s going to be more requests, specifically for particular person help, for Floridians that can were displaced,” he continued. “And it’s my experience that the administration desires to assist. I believe he realizes that this can be a truly important storm and there’s lots of people that–we’re working with the locals. We work very smartly with them. In fact, the state stage, but we really need everybody working together to make sure people have their wants tended to.”

DeSantis praised Biden last year over the president’s response to the horrific collapse of a condo constructing in Surfside, Florida by which ninety eight individuals died. He referred to as the administration’s managing of the catastrophe “nice.”

“You guys have not only been supportive on the federal degree, but we’ve had no paperwork,” DeSantis informed Biden, who visited the world rapidly after the fall down.

“I promise you, there will be none,” Biden spoke back.
