Billionaire Rupert Murdoch purchased a 340,000-acre ranch in Montana from a subsidiary of Koch Industries, the Wall Boulevard Journal reported.
Murdoch, who owns tons of of publications thru his company News Corp, paid about $200 million for the property. In line with the Journal, the cost tag makes it the biggest ranch sale within the state’s historical past.
The property is positioned near Yellowstone National Park and is stuffed with natural world, with the Journal reporting the ranch is dwelling to round four,000 elk, 800 antelope and 1,500 mule deer, as well as trout that live in its 28-mile-long creek.
“It is a profound responsibility,” a spokesperson for Murdoch said. “We really feel privileged to assume possession of this beautiful land and sit up for frequently improving both the commercial cattle business and the conservation belongings across the ranch.”
The property, known as Beaverhead Ranch, was at the beginning bought over 70 years ago through Fred Koch, whose firm later maintained ownership of it.
