CNN commentator and GOP strategist Scott Jennings said the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to guide Health and Human Products and Services is far from certain thanks to anti-abortion Republicans.

President-decide on Donald Trump nominated Kennedy for the job on Thursday. The political scion initially ran for the Democratic presidential nomination this yr prior to launching an unbiased bid. Kennedy is anti-vaccine and professional-option. And while Trump and other Republicans have largely omitted Kennedy’s position on abortion, Jennings stated with a view to exchange when the Senate holds Kennedy’s confirmation hearing.

On Thursday’s OutFront on CNN, host Erin Burnett cited Trump has made a number of controversial nominations to this point in addition to Kennedy. That includes former Rep. Matt Gaetz, who was just lately the subject of a House Ethics Committee investigation inspecting allegations of sexual misconduct and illicit drug use. The committee was slated Friday to vote on whether or not to release its findings. Then again, along with his resignation from the House, the document will not be made public.

“President Trump has put forward Matt Gaetz and Pete Hegseth and Tulsi Gabbard and now, RFK Jr.,” Burnett said to Jennings. “In the event that they make a selection to dam any of them, without a doubt RFK Jr. isn’t gonna be top of the record, or will he be?”

“I wouldn’t put him in the same category of Gaetz,” Jennings answered. “I feel Gaetz is pretty a long way beneath the road and has an extended option to go. RFK, I saw a couple of sure vibes out of the Senate tonight. I’m not in a position to completely handicap it yet.”

Jennings went on to note that Kennedy has criticized processed foods and American citizens’ diets.

“You’re gonna get widespread bipartisan settlement on that,” he endured. “I’m sure the vaccine stuff would be the largest flashpoint within the hearings.”

He then observed that Kennedy’s pro-possibility position is prone to arise all the way through the confirmation listening to.

“One different political difficulty,” Jennings said in closing. “I think the professional-lifers are somewhat weird on this right now. If I had been the Trump individuals, I might be coming up with one thing proactive to move that off as a result of I do assume those attacks are coming.”
