Six American citizens had been free of captivity in Venezuela Friday as President Donald Trump concluded his 2nd week back in office.

The federal government of President Nicolás Maduro freed them after receiving drive from the Trump administration. Trump sent his envoy for special missions, Richard Grenell, to barter their liberate past in the week.

Grenell posted a video on social media of him greeting the Americans after their release writing with the caption, “Hi there. I’m an American diplomat sent via President Trump and I’m here to convey you house.”

In line with the Associated Press, Grenell asked Maduro to take again undocumented migrants from Venezuela with criminal records within the U.S. as the administration conducts nationwide deportations.

Grenell said in a separate social media publish that the freed American citizens spoke to Trump by means of phone and expressed their gratitude.

“We are wheels up and headed home with these 6 American citizens. They simply spoke to @realDonaldTrump they usually couldn’t stop thanking him,” Grenell wrote on Friday night by the use of a publish on X.

Trump later posted his personal remark thanking Grenell whereas claiming that the American citizens had returned back home in “nice condition.” The president also mentioned that Maduro agreed to repatriate all Venezuelan undocumented migrants being deported from the U.S. by using the usage of their airplanes.

“Just been informed that we’re bringing six hostages residence from Venezuela. Thank you to Ric Grenell and my complete body of workers. Nice job!” President Trump mentioned Friday.

It was once now not clear why the American citizens have been being held, CNN pronounced.
