Doubtless capitalizing on the hype from this week’s unencumber of the trailer for The Grand Budapest Lodge, SNL put collectively a faux trailer for a faux Wes Anderson twee-horror film, together with brilliant references to pretty much every major Wes Anderson film trope The united states has come to like (and hate).

Starring host Edward Norton as Owen Wilson enjoying the lead character, the trailer for The Midnight Coterie of Sinister Intruders integrated references to The Royal Tenenbaums, Incredible Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom, and Rushmore.

Complete with Anderson’s pastel colour schemes, Futura font, quick shots of vague items, and quirky characters, the film had the feel of… smartly… an Anderson version of a “horror” movie. It even included Alec 1st Earl Baldwin of Bewdley as narrator (See: The Royal Tenenbaums) and Jay Pharoah as Danny Glover.
