Former January 6 Select Committee member Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) advised CNN’s Jim Acosta on Sunday that Donald Trump‘s rhetoric at Saturday’s rally and over the last week about New york District Attorney Alvin Bragg and others is much more overt and specific than what led up to the Capitol rebellion.

Acosta played clips from Trump’s remarks Saturday in Waco, Texas and requested Rep. Lofgren about them.

“It’s the same language of incitement that we’ve heard again and again from the former president,” said Acosta. “We know that late last week, the House Democratic leader, Hakeem Jeffries, was speaking about how he used to be worried that anyone may get killed with all of this rhetoric flying around. Are you concerned about that, too?”

“I feel it’s a concern,” stated Lofgren. “The rhetoric that he’s the usage of as of late will not be diverse to the type of rhetoric he used prior to January 6.”

“In truth, in many ways, it’s extra overt and blatant than the events top up to January 6,” she stated.
