The View’s Sunny Hostin had a message on Monday in response to the man who vandalized the Mona Lisa on Sunday: Let him smear cake.

Visitor co-host Tara Setmayer lamented that the public discourse within the aftermath of the incident, the dialogue has been in regards to the incident itself and not the aim at the back of it, which was to raise consciousness about climate exchange.

“Stunts like that don’t work in any respect,” she stated.

“I believe they work,” stated Hostin. “I mean, we’re speaking about it.”

“I believe climate alternate is one thing that we ignore so much in no longer handiest in this usa by world wide and obviously we’re speaking about this difficulty,” she brought. “The Mona Lisa is about this large … and it is also in this case.”

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg interjected and said, “It’s somebody else’s artwork. And how dare you try to destroy any individual else’s artwork.”

“I don’t assume it can be destroyed,” said Hostin, citing that the Leonardo Da Vinci painting is in a bulletproof case “and he threw some whipped cream at it.”

Goldberg stated that the portray wasn’t always safe and mentioned that while she sympathizes with protests, she once more condemned the demonstration.

“I completely get protests. I dig it,” she stated. “I don’t think it’s okay to break any individual else’s art with the intention to make your point.”

Co-host Sara Haines said that the protest didn’t create “special consideration to climate change by way of vandalizing or trying to, of main murals.”
