Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN), who tweeted he was “utterly heartbroken” over Monday’s deadly school taking pictures that occurred in his district, is being called out for sending a 2021 Christmas picture displaying his kids keeping firearms.
The founder of the anti-gun violence group Moms Demand Motion tweeted the photograph Monday afternoon.

“THIS is final 12 months’s Christmas card from Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles, a Republican who represents the district that Covenant College is in in Nashville,” Shannon Watts posted.
The picture shows Ogles, his spouse, and two of three kids protecting rifles in entrance of a Christmas tree.
Watts instructed MSNBC’s Pleasure Reid that the photo seems like they’re “celebrating weapons as though they’re toys.”
“It’s a sickness,” Watts said. “You recognize, there are three concerns right here on this us of a: our lax gun regulations, electing individuals who fortify the gun foyer, and gun extremism. After which this tradition, right? A culture of guns for somebody, anywhere, each time, no questions requested. Celebrating this—these guns as if they’re toys.”
Previous Monday, Ogles launched the following in a remark:
My domestic and I are devastated via the tragedy that came about at The Covenant College in Nashville this morning. We are sending our ideas and prayers to the families of those misplaced. As a father of three, I am totally heartbroken over this senseless act of violence. I am carefully monitoring the placement and dealing with native officers. Thank you to the courageous first responders who’ve equipped make stronger during this tragedy.
Police say 28-year-previous Audrey Hale opened fire on the private Christian faculty unless she was once shot and killed by police. Authorities recognized the six victims killed: 9-12 months-olds Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney; sixty one-year-outdated Cynthia Peak; 60-year-outdated Katherine Koonce; and sixty one-yr-outdated Mike Hill. The three adults all worked at the faculty, according to officers.
Police also revealed the next data on the woman they recognized as transgender.
Hale used to be a former student on the faculty that serves preschoolers via sixth graders. Police recovered a “manifesto,” and “maps drawn of the varsity in detail,” according to police.
“The shooter in this situation reportedly had two assault weapons and a pistol,” President Joe Biden said throughout a press conference. “So I call on Congress, once more, to cross my assault weapons ban. It’s about time that we commence to make some progress.”
