“I don’t recognize if it came right away from Chris Nolan,” she informed The Guardian.  “I think it was once most definitely a casting director of some sort, or a casting director’s assistant … Being a woman of coloration and being an actor and being told at the moment that I wasn’t ready to learn because of the colour of my pores and skin, and the word urban being thrown around like that, that was once what used to be truly laborious about that second.”

Kravitz had spoken out about the incident sooner than, telling Nylon in 2015 that she was denied a chance to audition for the Darkish Knight trilogy because of the colour of her skin.

“They told me that I couldn’t get an audition for a small role they were casting as a result of they weren’t ‘going urban,’” she mentioned. “It used to be like, ‘What does that need to do with the rest?’ I’ve to play the function like, ‘Yo, what’s up, Batman? What’s happening wit chu?’”

While chatting with the Guardian, Kravitz also printed that she confronted racism whereas filming HBO’s Large Little Lies in Monterey, California, noting that it’s “the sort of White area.”
