Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) sent a House Judiciary Committee listening to off the rails and into recess on Thursday as he tried to subpoena Donald Trump’s New York City prosecutors who had already agreed to look before the committee.

After Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) acknowledged Gaetz for five minutes of questioning, Gaetz as an alternative said, “I bought a movement. Mr. Chairman, I move below committee rule four and clause two of Home rule eleven to require the attendance and testimony of Alvin Bragg and Matthew Colangelo on July twelfth to discuss their involvement in the Trump prosecution, together with their workplaces, and coordination with the Department of Justice.”

“It’s a little bit absurd as a result of Mr. Bragg and Mr. Colangelo have already agreed to look earlier than the committee on July 12th,” shot back Rating Member Jerry Nadler (D-NY).

“We’ve a letter to that effect. So there’s no point requiring them to do what they’ve already said they’re going to do. The committee requested them to look. They asked to seem these days. They made the purpose that they did. Or Mr. Bragg, I must say, made the purpose that he didn’t suppose he will have to seem earlier than the sentencing on July eleventh, but he can be available thereafter. And he’s agreed to return on July 12th,” Nadler defined.

“Chairman, this debate’s out of order!” hit again Gaetz.

“You made a motion, it’s no longer out of order,” responded Nadler.

”You have to are looking for popularity,” Gaetz fumed on the senior Democrat as Jordan stated he recognized Nadler.

“I’m nonetheless on my time. I’m nonetheless controlling two additional minutes of time,” Gaetz shot again.

Nadler then reiterated his point and tried to enter a Fox Information headline into the report to which Gaetz objected and demanded his movement be addressed.

“Mr. Bragg and Mr. Colangelo have agreed to return on the twelfth,” Jordan responded. “In the event that they don’t show up on the twelfth, they’ll be subpoenaed. I might ask the gentleman if he could withdraw the motion.”

Gaetz doubled down refusing to withdraw, “I’ve made a motion to subpoena these individuals now, pursuant to the rules, and I wish to vote on my movement, or I want any person to maneuver to table it.” A Democrat moved to desk as others seconded. “This is loopy,” someone can be heard saying as Jordan ultimately labored to stop a vote on the motion.

“Committee will stand in recess,” Jordan stated resulting in just a few-minute smash. Gaetz withdrew his motion as soon as the committee reconvened and received again on course.
