President Donald Trump claimed Democrats “oppose God” all the way through a prayer breakfast speech — just moments ahead of he said he’d wish to be remembered as “a unifier.”
The Nationwide Prayer Breakfast is an annual bipartisan event that Trump as soon as used to rejoice his acquittal in his first impeachment trial.
On Thursday morning, Trump gave remarks at a pair of Nationwide Prayer Breakfast occasions — one at Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol and some other in the ballroom of the Washington Hilton.
During the latter speech, Trump claimed his political opponents “oppose God” and “oppose faith” and made other assaults earlier than telling the target audience how he would like to be remembered:
After years of decline, Americans are reasserting our real id as a individuals ordained by God to be the freest and most exceptional nation ever to exist on the face of the earth.
But we weren’t that for four years. I don’t imagine we were. And we’re getting there very soon.
Very quickly, I’ll be able to say it and we’ll be capable to say it again. As I stated in my inaugural handle two weeks ago. A mild is now shining over the sector, your entire world.
And I’m hearing it from other leaders, I’m hearing it from leaders that have historically now not been on our facet, that there’s a lot more there’s the sort of just right feeling within the air, so different than it was once just a short while in the past.
Because right here in The united states we’re once again a nation that believes in ourselves. We consider in our destiny and belief in the windfall of almighty God.
And I will let you know the alternative side, the opposing side. And so they oppose religion. They oppose God. They’ve lost their self belief. They’ve lost their self belief. It’s a special team of people than I remember.
Over the past two weeks, our power has been restored, our spirit has been revived, and a brand new national momentum has been sweeping throughout our land.
…
And as the Bible says, blessed are the peacemakers. And in that end, I’m hoping my finest legacy, when it’s all finished, shall be known as a peacemaker and a unifier. I’m hoping that’s going to be proper.
Watch above by the use of The White Home.
