Twitter Suspends Elon Musk Jet Tracker Account That He Claimed He Wouldn’t Ban

Regardless of Elon Musk’s promise to not take action towards the Twitter account that tracks the actions of his non-public jet, it sounds as if the account has been banned on the platform.

Jack Sweeney, the man who manages the @ElonJet Twitter account, has been claiming for the reason that Sunday that the social media platform has been suppressing his automatic account that gives updates on Musk’s flight vicinity. The accusations were printed in Sweeney’s personal model of the “Twitter Files,” whereby he claims that a Twitter worker informed him that @ElonJet used to be being shadowbanned with a “extreme degree” of restricted online visibility.

Following his initial accusations, Sweeney revealed a tweet saying that Twitter apparently backtracked on suppressing the account.

On Wednesday, however, the account was outright suspended.

The axing of @ElonJet comes after Musk in the past expressed his displeasure with the account, but after buying Twitter, he said that he wouldn’t have it banned on the grounds of his belief in free speech.

“My dedication to free speech extends even to now not banning the account following my airplane, despite the fact that that is an immediate personal security risk,” Musk said on the time.

It’s at present unknown if the ban is everlasting.
