Washington Publish columnist Jennifer Rubin called Florida GOP Governor Ron DeSantis an “unlikeable, boring, thuggish bully” all the way through a Saturday appearance on MSNBC with host Alicia Menendez.
The former conservative joined American Voices with Alicia Menendez on Saturday to talk about which GOP candidates has essentially the most doable to challenge former President Donald Trump for the nomination. When asked whether or not DeSantis might distinguish himself from Trump, the WaPo author didn’t hold back.
“The issue with Ron DeSantis is Ron DeSantis. He’s a thoroughly unlikable, boring, thuggish bully. And voters might determine that out very quickly. They’ve figured it out,” Rubin mentioned. “I believe the challenge for the other candidates who might actually have a much better shot in opposition to Trump, they should attempt to push DeSantis out of the race.
“They may be able to choose up his votes,” she delivered. “After which any person one among them, can mount an efficient opposition. At the moment, none of them want to assault Trump. I feel that’s cowardice. I think that’s silly. But when they don’t need to do this, at the least go after DeSantis.”
DeSantis is currently campaigning in important early main states equivalent to Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada. Alternatively, the Florida Republican trails the former president despite his ongoing felony troubles by greater than 32 points, consistent with Real Clear Politics.
Other candidates reminiscent of South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who have been reluctant to assault Trump publicly, are polling at a regular of three p.c.
