A young woman fainted behind Louisiana Republican Gov. Jeff Landry as he signed the controversial Ten Commandments regulation on Wednesday.

Recently, the Republican-managed legislature in Louisiana passed a brand new law requiring the state’s public schools to show a poster of the Ten Commandments in all classrooms from kindergarten as much as the college degree. The bill has generated controversy amongst some critics who claim it is discriminatory towards other religions and cultures.

Right through the signing of the invoice, a young girl standing at the back of Landry seems to zone out sooner than collapsing to the floor. The invoice particularly claims that the Bible’s Ten Commandments are “foundational documents of our state and national government” and requires each school rooms to show it in “huge, easily readable font.”

Additionally, the invoice requests a  “context remark” to be brought beneath the display that states the Ten Commandments “were a prominent a part of American public schooling for nearly three centuries.”
