Las Vegas bid farewell to the iconic Tropicana Casino Wednesday morning as the building’s demolition, marked by way of a fireworks express and song from Frank Sinatra, brought an end to the legendary resort’s just about seven-decade run on the Strip.

The implosion of the Tropicana’s Paradise Tower and Club Tower was once the first casino demolition in Las Vegas in virtually a decade.

Opened in 1957 and dubbed the “Tiffany of the Strip”, the Tropicana’s legacy is etched in Las Vegas history. It was once well-known for its showgirl revue, mob connections as well as website hosting tune legends like Louis Armstrong and the Rat P.c..

After the hotel was honored with its ship-off show, at 2.30am (PT) the on line casino fell in just 22 seconds, as over 2,000 pounds of explosives introduced it down.

The world where the Tropicana’s stood will soon be home to a $1.5 billion, 33,000-seat baseball stadium for the relocating Oakland Athletics, slated to open for the 2028 MLB season.
