Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre shared amusing over Doocy’s promise to call his new baby after both Jean-Pierre or President Joe Biden.

Doocy is married to Fox Information and Fox Industry correspondent Hillary Vaughn, and the couple have anticipating a daughter for months. At  White Home briefing in January, Doocy joked about the upcoming bundle of joy, quipping that he’d title her “Josephina — for the President,” then when Jean-Pierre steered “Karine” for a reputation, stated “We’ll take it beneath advisement.”

At Thursday’s briefing, Jean-Pierre welcomed Doocy back for his first briefing since the blessed adventure, and drew laughs by way of asking after “baby Karine”:

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: Zeke, earlier than I’m going to you, I forgot to inform Peter to welcome back and congratulations on being a dad. And the way is baby Karine doing? She’s doing just right? (Laughter.)

ED O’KEEFE: Ha! (Laughter.)

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: Ed — (laughs) — Ed had, like, this delayed response.

PETER DOOCY: It’s — I — I do have quite a lot of exhausting questions for her after I get home. (Laughter.)

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: Oh. Are they laborious or are just — are they severely arduous or — (laughs) —

PETER DOOCY: You tell me.

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: I don’t need to say the next word that I wish to say to that. (Laughter.) oKay, I’m —

PETER DOOCY: Thank you.

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: Zeke, the ground is yours.

ZEKE MILLER: Thanks, Karine. And welcome back, Peter.

Doocy is a brand new father, but he did not title the infant “Karine.”

Bridget Blake Doocy was born Feb. 1, and was once the subject of an exclusive Persons Journal photograph spread. In comments to the magazine, Vaughn joked her new submit as mom is just not so much of a change:

“I didn’t understand this except now, however I’ve been training for motherhood my entire profession through seeking to get lawmakers on Capitol Hill to answer my questions. This job isn’t so much completely different,” the new mom tells PEOPLE. “‘Baby Bridget – can you supply us a remark? Are you hungry or gassy, or each?’ Seeking to get an on-the-file resolution is tough!”
