Will Smith slapped Chris Rock throughout the face on the 2022 Academy Awards — and it didn’t look planned.

Rock used to be on stage providing the nominees for Absolute Best Documentary, which Summer of Soul ended up profitable, when he took a jab at Smith’s spouse, actress Jada Pinkett Smith.

“You already know who’s got the toughest job tonight? Javier Bardem and his spouse are both nominated. Now, if she loses, he can’t win,” Rock joked. “He’s praying that Will Smith wins, like, please, lord.”

That’s when he took a swipe at Pinkett Smith, adding, “Jada, I really like you. ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ can’t wait to peer it.”

The joke was possible a reference to Pinkett Smith’s baldness, which is a private matter for the actress, who printed her alopecia prognosis in 2018.

Smith stormed up onto the stage following the quip and slapped Rock proper across the face — in a swing that was once onerous enough for the mic to pick up.

The King Richard actor then sat go into reverse next to his wife and started berating Rock. While america’ live movement managed to censor the expletive-ridden tirade, the NSFW version managed to make the rounds on Twitter:

“Oh wow, wow. Will Smith simply smacked the shit outta me,” Rock announced to the target audience.

“Maintain my wife’s identify out ya fucking mouth!” Smith retorted.

“Wow, dude,” said Rock. “It was once a G.I. Jane funny story.”

“Preserve my wife’s title out ya fucking mouth!” Smith repeated even louder.
