Chris Christie’s “Bridgegate” scandal wasn’t the only bridge-related information story this week. In Oregon, 26-year-old Rebecca Humphries led police on a far-lengthy chase earlier than pulling over on Stark Side road Bridge and leaping into the freezing chilly Sandy River.

“I was once seeking to return the auto to the fellow that was in retaliation for me ditching it,” Humphries advised KATU-TV via cellphone. “And I began to get pulled over and received scared and ‘fight or flight’ kicked in and I jumped. I seemed down, but I didn’t hesitate. I simply jumped.”

“Really, jumping from that bridge, in itself the space to the water is unhealthy — for any person to jump that distance,” Sgt. Carey Kaer said. “And into freezing water additionally, I don’t know what was going thru her head.”

Unlike The Fugitive‘s Richard Kimball, Humphries was rescued from the water and brought to an area hospital and handled for broken vertebrae sooner than officers charged her with numerous visitors violations.
