A blended martial arts fight used to be allowed with the aid of the referee to proceed for a full 38 seconds after the announcers commenced imploring him to prevent it.
The beautiful moment took place throughout the Fury Fighting Championships seventy six bout between Edgar Cháirez and Gianni Vazquez. Throughout the fourth spherical, Cháirez locked Vazquez in a triangle choke — and Vazquez right away went limp and gave the impression to have his eyes closed.
However despite Vazquez appearing to be completely defenseless and even perhaps unconscious, and regardless of Vazquez’s own nook begging for the competition to be stopped, referee Frank Collazo stunningly allowed the bout to proceed for 38 excruciating seconds.
Cageside announcer Alex Morono screamed at Collazo to prevent the fight, to no avail.
“FRANK, IT’S DONE!” Morono screamed. “FRANK, IT’S DONE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING, IT’S DONE! WHAT IS HE DOING?! OH MY GOSH, WHAT IS HAPPENING?!”
This is without doubt one of the worst jobs by a ref within the historical past of refereeing. What on the planet. As reckless as it gets. p.c.twitter.com/M62wys1OA3

Vazquez’s eyes at last opened, and he right away tapped out. Collazo finally known that the defenseless fighter was giving up, and mercifully waved off the competition.
After the bout, Vazquez posted a photo of his arm in a sling on Instagram and slammed the referee for no longer stepping in to give protection to him when he was out.
“Some silly referee … didn’t cease the combat after I used to be out now I’ve to deal with a possible fracture on my arm and some ligaments damaged too,” Vazquez wrote.
In a statement, Fury Preventing Championships slammed Collazo — who was assigned to referee the bout by way of the Texas State Athletic Commission.
“It is the referee’s job to give protection to the fighter when the fighter can’t protect him or herself. In last night’s major event, the referee failed to do that,” Fury wrote. “Whereas the job of a referee is one of the hardest to do on this activity, the need for proper and continued coaching would lend a hand to alleviate things like this incident. We do not hire, educate or make a choice refs for our presentations, but we would be greater than keen to steer a revamp and overhaul of the reffing and judging selection and coaching process.”
