Republican senators were bowled over and bewildered by President-select Donald Trump’s choice to appoint Fox News host Pete Hegseth as the following secretary of safety on Tuesday.

Asked for his thoughts on the nomination, Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) reportedly remarked, “Truly? I’d need to think about it.”

Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC) was more confident concerning the nomination, calling Hegseth “an impressive particular person.”

Trump introduced in a statement on Tuesday that he had made up our minds to nominate the Fox & Friends Weekend co-host as secretary of safety.
