A fundraising email from Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) contained either a a very powerful typo or stated the quiet section out loud, relying on one’s viewpoint.
The backbencher’s not going ascent to the House’s highest position has caused a flurry of analysis into Johnson’s views, including homophobic remarks. He claimed same-sex marriage could lead to individuals marrying their pets.
“Consultants mission that gay marriage is the darkish harbinger of chaos and sexual anarchy that might doom even the strongest republic,” he stated in every other instance.
In an interview with Sean Hannity last week, Johnson stated to “go choose up a Bible off your shelf and skim it – that’s my worldview.”
That induced the Fox host to add a qualifier on Johnson’s behalf. “That’s your personal worldview,” Hannity stated.
On Friday, Johnson fired off an electronic mail that started, “The liberal media is out to smash me.”
What adopted was usual fundraising electronic mail fare, but one that ended in an unfortunate announcement.

Johnson drew warmth this week for tacking on a provision to defund the Inside Earnings Provider to a $14 billion support package deal for Israel amid its warfare towards Hamas. Republicans say the roughly $14 billion in cuts will offset the aid to Israel. Then again, a Congressional Funds Workplace analysis found that this isn’t the case.
